Grammar Focus

We use the past simple to talk about actions that finished in the past. Regular verbs add -ed, but some verbs are irregular.

Relative clause: who + verb

We use 'who' to add extra information about a person or animal. It comes right after the noun it describes.

Tip: Put commas around the relative clause if the information is extra and not essential to the sentence.

Modal verb 'must': subject + must + base verb

We use 'must' to say something is necessary or very important.

“ We must find shade.

Tip: After 'must', always use the base form of the verb, without 'to' or -s.
