Paragraphs 1–2 of 4

In the kingdom of lanterns, a gentle dragon named Ember lived in a quiet cave. Every evening, the people lit paper lanterns, and the soft light filled the streets. Ember loved to read books by that warm light. He read stories about faraway places and magical creatures. Reading made him feel happy and calm.

One day, the castle garden stopped growing. The flowers were dry, and the trees had no leaves. The queen was very sad. She said to Ember, "Yesterday, I saw the garden was green. Now it is brown." Ember wanted to help, but he did not know what to do. He read many books about plants and gardens.
