Nia was a young cartographer. She made maps of rivers and hills. One day, she walked into a misty river valley. The mist was perpetual; it never went away. Nia carried her map and a small bag. She wanted to draw the river for her new map.
Nia saw that the old bridge was gone. The storm had washed it away. The river was wide and fast. "Oh no!" she said. "I cannot cross here." She felt sad and worried. But she looked around and saw some big stones near the river. They were like a small bridge. She thought, "Maybe I can use these stones as an auxiliary bridge. They can help me cross." She took a small step onto the first stone. Then another. She said to herself, "Small steps still cross big rivers." She kept going, one step at a time.
