On a warm and golden savanna, a young bear named Boro lived near a small water hole. The savanna was very different from the cold forests where his family once lived. Every morning, he watched the zebras and the antelopes come to graze on the sweet grass. Boro was afraid of the open land, which had no trees to hide behind.
One dry season, a long drought came, and the river slowly turned to dust. The animals began their great migration, walking many days to find fresh water and green grass. Boro wanted to follow them, but his fear was too strong. An old tortoise, who had seen many seasons, told him, "Patience is a virtue, young bear. The rain will come when it is ready."
