Paragraphs 1–2 of 4

Lina is a gardener on a space station. She takes care of a special garden called the Blue Planet. The garden is inside a big glass room. Every day, she waters the plants and talks to them. She loves her quiet job in space. The garden is near the station's window, so the plants can see the stars.

One night, Lina hears a strange sound. It is a soft beep, beep, beep. The sound comes at midnight. It repeats again and again. Lina feels a little afraid, but she is brave. She says to herself, "I will find this sound. I will care for my garden." She walks slowly to the garden. The sound is near the big blue flower.

Prepositions of place: in, near, inside

We use 'in', 'near', and 'inside' to show where something is. 'In' means within a space. 'Near' means close to something. 'Inside' means within the interior of something.

“ The garden is inside a big glass room.
Tip: Remember: 'in' is for general places, 'inside' is for enclosed spaces, and 'near' is for things that are close but not inside.
Past Simple: subject + verb-ed (regular) or irregular past form

We use the past simple to talk about actions that finished in the past. For regular verbs, add -ed. Some verbs are irregular and change form.

“ She walked slowly to the garden.
Tip: Look for time words like 'yesterday', 'last night', or 'one night' to know when to use past simple.
Future Simple with 'will': subject + will + base verb

We use 'will' to talk about future actions or decisions made at the moment of speaking.

“ I will find this sound.
Tip: Use 'will' for promises, predictions, and quick decisions about the future.
