Once, a young penguin named Piku lived in a cold, white land. One day, a big wind came and pushed him far away. He woke up in a hot, yellow desert. The sand was warm and the sun was bright. Piku was scared and alone.

Piku walked and walked, but he could not find water. Then he saw a big, dark cave. He went inside to hide from the sun. Suddenly, a heavy rock fell and blocked the door. It was a trap! Piku pushed the rock, but it was too heavy. He cried for help.

Grammar Focus

Past Simple: subject + verb(-ed) or irregular past

“ He woke up in a hot, yellow desert.
Tip: Learn the past form of common irregular verbs like 'go', 'see', and 'wake' to tell stories easily.
Future Simple with 'will': subject + will + verb

Use 'will' to talk about the future, make promises, or say what someone is going to do.

“ I will help you.
Tip: Remember that 'will' does not change with the subject: I will, you will, he will, etc.
Prepositions of place: in, on, under

Prepositions of place show where something is. 'In' means inside, 'on' means on top, and 'under' means below.

“ He found a red ball under a tree.
Tip: Use 'in' for enclosed spaces, 'on' for surfaces, and 'under' for something below.
