Once upon a time, a young pirate named Finn sailed to a strange land called the savanna. The savanna was a wide, golden place where the grass moved like waves in the wind. Finn had a wooden leg and a patch over one eye, but he was not scary at all. He had come to a small school that sat under a giant baobab tree. The school was for young animals, and Finn was the newest student.
One morning, the teacher, a wise old elephant named Mrs. Tusk, said, "Today we will learn about the food chain." She pointed to the grass and said, "The grass is the first link. It feeds the grazers, like zebras and gazelles." Finn listened carefully, but he felt sad. He missed his ship and his old life. Then he remembered his special compass, which was a gift from his grandfather. He looked in his pocket, but the compass was gone! "Oh no!" he cried. "My compass is lost!"
