Paragraphs 1–2 of 4

Mira the mermaid lived in a quiet pond in the Enchanted Forest. She had a beautiful pink pearl that glowed like the moon. One calm morning, the pearl was gone from her shell. Mira felt sad and looked around the pond. She asked her friends for help.

First, Mira met a slow turtle named Tito. Tito said, "I will help you find your pearl." They looked under rocks and in the soft sand. Next, a bright blue bird named Bella flew down. Bella said, "I can look from the sky." The three friends started to search together.

Grammar Focus

Past Simple: subject + verb-ed (regular verbs)

“ Mira the mermaid lived in a quiet pond in the Enchanted Forest.
Tip: Remember that some verbs are irregular (e.g., 'go' becomes 'went'), so check a list when needed.
Future Simple with 'will': subject + will + base verb

Use 'will' to talk about future actions, promises, or decisions made at the moment of speaking.

“ Tito said, "I will help you find your pearl."
Tip: Use 'will' for all subjects (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) – it never changes form.
Prepositions of place: in, under, behind, near

Prepositions of place show where something or someone is. Common ones are 'in', 'under', 'behind', and 'near'.

“ They looked under rocks and in the soft sand.
Tip: Visualise the position: 'under' means below, 'behind' means at the back of, 'near' means close to.
