Grammar Focus

Past Simple: subject + verb-ed (regular verbs)

Use the past simple to talk about actions that started and finished in the past. For regular verbs, add -ed to the base verb.

“ Mira the mermaid lived in a quiet pond in the Enchanted Forest.

Tip: Remember that some verbs are irregular (e.g., 'go' becomes 'went'), so check a list when needed.

Future Simple with 'will': subject + will + base verb

Use 'will' to talk about future actions, promises, or decisions made at the moment of speaking.

“ Tito said, "I will help you find your pearl."

Tip: Use 'will' for all subjects (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) – it never changes form.

Prepositions of place: in, under, behind, near

Prepositions of place show where something or someone is. Common ones are 'in', 'under', 'behind', and 'near'.

“ They looked under rocks and in the soft sand.

Tip: Visualise the position: 'under' means below, 'behind' means at the back of, 'near' means close to.
