Percy the Penguin and the Forest of Forgotten Answers

Intermediate (B1 Low) Test Preparation CEFR B1 259 words 5 min read

Percy, a little penguin, wandered into the enchanted forest because he had lost his way. The trees whispered strange sounds, and the air shimmered with unnatural purple light. Although he was frightened, he remembered his grandmother's advice to stay calm and think carefully.

Suddenly, a shadowy owl swooped down and asked him a question: "What is the capital of France?" Percy knew the answer, but when he opened his beak, his mind was completely empty. The forest had a magic that stole his memories, and he felt panic rising in his heart. Because he could not remember, he began to shake.
